Murrells Inlet Hotel: Eat, Drink & Be Merry

‘Tis the season to be jolly! We’ve recently carved the turkey and survived Black Friday, so we can officially listen to Christmas music, watch cheesy Hallmark movies and bake cookies for Santa Clause. This time of year, we typically throw calories out the window and indulge in our favorite foods and beverages. Why? Because this is THE best time of year to eat, especially here along the Grand Strand near our Murrells Inlet hotel. With so much going on, we don’t want to miss out on any experiences for ourselves or our children (if you have them). Below are a few things to check out in Myrtle Beach until you need to “get back on track” on January 1st.

Brunch At Gulfstream Cafe

Finding a restaurant along the Grand Strand that combines a delicious meal with a gorgeous view can be difficult. Gulfstream Cafe has perfected that combination! This brunch has all of your breakfast favorites, lunch cravings and everything in between. Don’t leave without a plate full of biscuits & gravy! We also recommend stopping by the made-to-order omelette station next to the buffet. To cap off this extraordinary spread, your server will bring warm chocolate chip cookies with your check. YUM!

All You Can Eat Wings At Grumpy Monk

With two locations in Myrtle Beach, Grumpy Monk is quickly becoming every local’s favorite watering hole. They have upwards of 50 beers on tap that rotate from season to season and their Happy Hour is second to none. However, they made this list because of their Thursday night special: all you can eat wings! What’s better than everyone’s favorite bar food? Every Thursday night from 4pm to close, they offer AYCE Buffalo style chicken wings for $14.99. The real question is, how many can you put down?

Peppermint Chocolate Milkshake At Chic-fil A

Nothing tastes more like Christmas than the peppermint chocolate milkshake at Chic-fil-A! This deadly concoction is only available for about 6 weeks, but we are lucky enough to be in the midst of greatness. The combination of decadent chocolate with a hint of fresh peppermint will make your tastebuds do a happy dance!

Fall Festivals In Murrells Inlet

Aside from a few weeks straight of rain, a hurricane and a tropical storm, summer here in Murrells Inlet was amazing! Here at Inlet Sports Lodge, we had the pleasure of meeting so many new guests and hosted plenty of events to keep us busy. Now that the weather has cooled off, Fall is officially here! If you are a fan of pumpkin spiced lattes and seasonal craft beers, this time of year is made for you. Since it’s not unbearably hot outside, the Grand Strand has plenty of outdoor fun for the entire family going on! We are here to bring to light the fall festivals in Murrells Inlet that you should not miss out on.

Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations: Stay & Play In Murrells Inlet

As Labor Day draws near, it marks the unofficial end of the summer season. Sure, we will still have nice, warm weather for another month or so, but fall is getting closer and closer. You may have already started to notice pumpkin-flavored adult beverages hitting your local cooler. There’s no fighting fall, so why not embrace it?

Aside from the return of both college and professional football (yay!), fall is the perfect time of year to hit the links! If you booked one of our Myrtle Beach golf vacations, then you are in for a treat. Below is a bit about a few of the golf courses which we include in our fall golf packages:

TPC Myrtle Beach

TPC Myrtle Beach’s very challenging 18-hole, 72 par PGA Tour-caliber course features elevation changes, undulating greens, and Tour-quality bunkers. It is a course designed to treat golfers to the experience of what it must be like to be a PGA Touring professional.

Tom Fazio designed the course with the intention of ranking it among the nation’s finest. When TPC Myrtle Beach opened to rave reviews on February 2, 1999, many of golf’s most respected sources pronounced it an instant classic.

Founders Club

Located in quaint, quiet Pawleys Island, America’s oldest seaside resort, the Founders Club at Pawleys Island immediately impresses you with the striking beauty of the 9th hole, the first hole you see as you enter the golf club. A beautiful, well-laid-out hole, it makes a strong statement and sparks the most comments from visitors. And it sets the tone for what is to come.

The Founders Club at Pawleys Island earned distinction as Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year in 2011 by the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association. In both 2009 and 2011, the Founders Club was deemed one of the 30 Best Courses You can Play in South Carolina by the South Carolina Golf Course Ratings Panel.

Blackmoor

Blackmoor Golf Club, located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina has remained one of the Grand Strand’s most player-friendly golf course rounds. The design is one that stretches the imagination – almost begging for the untraditional at times. That has been packaged with a playing surface that can only be described as upper-echelon. It leaves those who set foot on this 18-hole masterpiece in awe of what they’ve just experienced.

Of course, we book golf packages for several other courses along the Grand Strand, but we just wanted to give you a taste of what to expect. It’s not too late to book your fall golf vacation, so if you are interested in learning more about what we have to offer, please view our golf specials here »

Murrells Inlet South Carolina Spotlight: East Coast BrewBoat

When you hear Murrells Inlet South Carolina, what do you think of? I would venture to guess that ‘seafood’ would be the overwhelming favorite, followed by ‘nightlife’. There are plenty of gorgeous golf courses located just south of Myrtle Beach as well as places to relax and enjoy everything the lowcounty has to offer. What about water activities? Sure, jet skiing and deep sea fishing is a blast, but how does a casual cruise through the marsh on a pedal boat with an ice cold drink in your hand sound? Hope aboard the East Coast BrewBoat!

History of the BrewBoat

In 2016, Charlie & Chrissy Mize came across an idea that they thought would fit right into the culture of Murrells Inlet. So they took that idea and ran with it! A few months later, the Goat (the name of their boat) was constructed and they rented a slip on the water behind Drunken Jack’s Restaurant & Lounge. VOILA! The East Coast BrewBoat was ready for business! Now, there was a lot more involved than that, but we will spare the details.

What is the BrewBoat?

Great question! The BrewBoat is the 9th cycleboat to take the water in the United States. The boat moves through the water from the pedaling of the passengers on board. Each seat is set up very much like a bicycle and as the faster you pedal, the faster the boat goes. A captain is on board to steer the boat through the Inlet and motivate you to pedal faster! Solar panels on the roof of the boat power the speakers (you choose the music), light the party LED’s for night cruises and charges the batteries for the electric motor.

That’s the boat part of it, now on to the brew! The East Coast BrewBoat in Murrells Inlet South Carolina allows passengers (who are 21 and older) to bring a six pack of beer or a bottle of wine on board with them to sip on as they cruise the Inlet. The BrewBoat provides coozies as well as coolers to keep your drinks cold.

Each cruise last about an hour an fifteen minutes. It’s actually the perfect amount of time because you do tend to get tired towards the end if you are pedaling the entire time. The boat actually accommodates up to 15 guests, with ten cycle stations. So not everybody has to pedal all of the time.

How To Book A Cruise

The East Coast BrewBoat runs from March to October (give or take a month) with cruises going out every 90 minutes daily from noon to 7:15pm. You can always view their available time slots here. The BrewBoat is PERFECT for a bachelor party, bachelorette party, family fun, office team building session or just a group of friends getting together to enjoy a drink on the water.

Inlet Sports Lodge: A Weekend In Murrells Inlet

Recently, we had a couple in their mid-thirties spend some time with us here at Inlet Sports Lodge. Out of curiosity, we sat down with them to find out what they did during their weekend in Murrells Inlet. Perhaps there are a few things that you didn’t even consider during your stay here in the Inlet, so we are here to provide some insight!

“On Friday, we arrived at the Inlet Sports Lodge around 4pm. We were greeted by a welcoming young lady who checked us in and provided us with our room number. Our suite was cozy and felt very much like home. We loved the wood floors and the complimentary coffee and water were a very nice touch! It was also very convenient to have a mini-frig in our room. We enjoy the little things in life!

Once we got all of our clothes put away for the weekend, we headed down to the Marshwalk for dinner. We made reservations at Wahoo’s because we had never eaten there before. The food and ambiance was fantastic. My husband and I both got seafood, because well, we figured we should since we are in the seafood capital of South Carolina! After dinner, we went for a stroll down the MarshWalk to enjoy the beautiful weather and then stopped by Bubba’s Love Shak for a drink. We sat outside since it was so nice and my husband had a cigar (as he always does). So far so good!

Saturday morning we woke up, got ready and headed downstairs only to be met by a wonderful breakfast spread. We ate and then drove down to Georgetown to check out the Hopsewee Plantation. As history buffs, it was extremely interesting to learn about one of the south’s largest rice plantations as well as the birthplace of Thomas Lynch, Jr. who was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. We knew that we wanted to eat lunch while we were there so we made reservations at the River Oak Cottage Tea Room that was on site. They had a delectable assortment of finger sandwiches and tea..just want we needed! After lunch, we drove over to Historic Downtown Georgetown to check out Front Street. There were several boutique shops and cafes to browse. Very cute little area. We spent a few hours there and then decided to head back to the Inlet Sports Lodge to change for dinner.

We had heard good things about the Chive Blossom Cafe from a few locals the night before, so we headed down to Pawleys Island for dinner. The food was outstanding! You could tell that everything was made in house with fresh, local ingredients. It was a nice change of pace from the standard fare that you get along the Grand Strand. After we had our fill, I was in the mood for a drink and my husband wanted another cigar, so we compromised and headed to Bourbon & Burnz for both! The atmosphere was very relaxed, as were the others who were there. It was the perfect nightcap!

Unfortunately our stay ended on Sunday, but we had an absolutely fantastic time! The staff at Inlet Sports Lodge could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely stay here again!”
