Best Places to Golf

murrells inlet golfBook one of our custom Myrtle Beach golf packages at The Inlet Sports Lodge, and set out for a full day of Murrells Inlet golf during your stay! We’re happy to announce ownership of two pristine golf courses which are just a short stroll from our Murrells Inlet hotels. Award-winning architect Mike Strantz has designed both the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club courses. Strantz was deemed “Architect of the Year” by Golf World because of his efforts to maintain the natural beautify of each golf course. When you’re looking for things to do in SC, planning a day to practice your Murrells Inlet golf game is an absolute must!

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

Formerly a historic rice plantation replete and still holds the flawless beauty, you’ll have a magical experience at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, the first course designed by Mike Strantz. You’ll enjoy a game of golf on a course that features a captivating layout of well-maintained fairways, unique elevations offering a challenge for the seasoned player, as well as scenic views of tidal marshes, meandering streams, majestic live oak trees, and the occasional alligator! Anyone who has golfed this course knows that the 18th hole is the show-stealer. The 18th green, a par 4, requires precision while you try to avoid water, traverse through angled greens, and stay clear of the sandy bunkers surrounding the green. When you putt on the 18th hole, you may notice some observers from the clubhouse, which will add to the excitement of your final approach on the course! After indulging in a round of Murrells Inlet golf, grab a bite at the clubhouse, swing by the pro shop, or watch fellow golfers take their turn putting on the 18th hole!

True Blue Golf Club

Once an indigo and rice plantation, adjacent to Caledonia Golf & Fish Club you’ll find True Blue Golf Club, a par 72 course which was the fourth design from Mike Strantz. The character of the layout is brought out through the vegetation, wide-open fairways, and extensive water features throughout the course. True Blue is an excellent game for all skill levels because of the width of the course; however, you will have to stay clear of the water on five holes throughout the game. Although the course is perfect for beginners and seasoned players, don’t be fooled you’re accuracy will be tested throughout the course that sits on 300 acres of land. Spending the morning on the Caledonia Golf course, and finishing on True Blue will be one of your favorite things to do in SC during your vacation to Murrells Inlet!
