Murrells Inlet Hotels: Eat, Play & Stay

If you are looking to stay just south of Myrtle Beach at one of the many Murrells Inlet hotels, what entices you the most? Is it the proximity to the water? Restaurants? Night life? Golf? Luxury accommodations? Luckily for you, the Inlet Sports Lodge checks every single one of those boxes! Continue reading to learn more about what we can offer you during your stay.

Smell The Ocean

Inlet Sports Lodge is only 3 minutes away from the marshes of Murrells Inlet. That’s right…3 minutes! In that same spot you can gaze out to find the Atlantic Ocean and all of it’s beautiful surroundings. There are plenty of Myrtle Beach fishing charters that would be more than happy to take you out for a relaxing trip. If speed is more your style, jet ski rentals are available.

Taste The Ocean

Murrells Inlet is the seafood capital of South Carolina. So that means there is no better place along the Grand Strand to feast on the bounty of the sea! Adjacent to Inlet Sports Lodge, you will find Costa, an Italian restaurant that is so much more than spaghetti and meatballs! Open for lunch and dinner, Costa boasts Italian specialties with a local flair. We recommend the Spicy Crab & Lemon entree, that is made up of lump crab, oven roasted tomatoes, charred corn, preserved lemon, arugula and chili pepper tossed with fresh fettuccine. YUM!

Enjoy A Night Out

The Marshwalk is a must stop for anyone vacationing here along the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach. Aside from the fresh seafood, the night life is another reason to check out this strip of waterfront real estate. One of the most popular spots is Hot Fish Club, which is actually on the “South Inlet” by Inlet Sports Lodge. Their bar sits extremely close to the marsh, making it a very unique experience. King Street Grille, which is located next door to Hot Fish Club, is a Pittsburgh sports bar that offers cold beer, plenty of televisions and live music on most nights.

FORE!

Myrtle Beach is the golf capital of the world. Murrells Inlet boasts a few of the best courses along the Grand Strand. If you are looking to play a high end golf course during your stay, look no further than True Blue Golf Club or Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. 3 Big Reasons Why November is Ideal for Myrtle Beach Golf

When it comes to golf, most people think of Spring and Fall. While Spring weather can be beautiful in the Myrtle Beach area, it can also be unpredictable. And while the earlier part of Fall is also a great time of year, it still lingers as a busy time through parts of October. The later part of Fall can be one of the best times of the year to enjoy one of the many Myrtle Beach golf courses. While November is revving up to be crisp and cool across the country, it’s generally one of the most pleasant and affordable times of the year to enjoy the finest golf packages Myrtle Beach has to offer. Continue reading to find out why now is the time to book your Myrtle Beach golf trip and how Inlet Sports Lodge, a luxury hotel in Murrells Inlet, can help!

  1. Weather is Ideal

When it comes to November, most people don’t think of it as the month to venture on vacation, especially to the beach. But if dipping in the ocean isn’t your top priority, the weather in Myrtle Beach is still prime for golf. Temps average in the 60’s with many days still in the low 70’s and precipitation tends to run a little less likely compared to the rainy Spring months when golf is still at its peak. Most importantly, the east coast is finally out of the peak of hurricane season. Naturally as the end of November approaches temperatures can begin to dip down to some cooler temps, but still remain fairly mild compared to winters in the Northern US and it is still a beautiful time of year to enjoy the Grand Strand, even outside of the golf world.

  1. Accommodations Rates are at Some of the LOWEST of the Year

In addition to enjoying what is considered Spring like weather in the earlier part of November, you can also get some of the best deals on golf and rooms during this time of year. As the Myrtle beach area gears away from peak season, accommodation rates are usually at some of their lowest of the year. Rates at the Inlet Sports Lodge drop down to $109 before taxes and fees as early as mid-October, and continue at that rate through the end of the year. Not to mention for affiliated courses Caledonia & True Blue, affiliated partners, you can score rounds for packages at top courses a bit cheaper than you would in the Spring. The Lowcountry Luxury package for example, offers 2 Nights & 2 Rounds as low as $389 per person beginning October 23rd.

  1. Beat the Crowds

Although Murrells Inlet tends to boast less traffic overall than Myrtle Beach, the impact of the off-season is felt even greater beginning the month of November. If crowds aren’t your thing, you definitely will want to be at the beach during this time of the year. You can enjoy all the same amenities including all the top-rated dining in the area only with less traffic and crowds to compete with. Not to mention…if you have a preference for your tee times, you can have an easier time teeing off at your favored time of day when it’s not as busy.

In case you needed any other reason to visit us for your November Golf trip, give yourself a break before the Holiday Season. Afterall, when will you be able to get away for a golf vacation next? There’s no better time than November for Fall Golf in Myrtle Beach. View our Myrtle Beach golf packages here »

Myrtle Beach Attractions: New & Improved

Each and every year, Myrtle Beach makes minor adjustments here and there to  improve the experience of everyone who visits the Grand Strand. This year, there have been some amazing improvements, new additions and news for future Myrtle Beach attractions. Continue reading to find out what has been going on in the area over the past few months:

Barefoot Landing

If you have visited this famous North Myrtle Beach attraction lately, you may have noticed a few changes. The storefronts are now much more modern on the eastern side and a new bridge has been construction (mostly because of Matthew). Over the next few years, Barefoot Landing will be developing a walkable restaurant district to be called Dockside Village, located along the Instracoastal Waterway. Lulu’s by Lucy Buffett has potential to be the the most exciting addition to Dockside Village. This 20,000 square foot space will offer a 400-seat restaurant, a large sandy beach, ropes climbing course, arcade and much more! This will be Lulu’s third location in the United States.

Dave & Buster’s

Eat. Drink. Play. Watch. At the newest attraction to hit the beach, you can do just about anything your heart desires! Dave & Buster’s has taken Broadway at the Beach by storm. Patrons are able to play the latest & greatest arcade games while sipping on their favorite beverage, eating delicious food and watching their favorite sports team play. Make sure you race your friends in a game of Mario Kart. It puts the classic N64 video game to shame!

Broadway at the Beach

In addition to Dave & Buster’s, Broadway at the Beach has seen the most change over the past few months. Celebrity Square has been completely revamped and now has an appeal similar to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. Hard Rock Cafe was torn down and replaced by Dave & Busters and now sits on the corner of the entrance by Fat Tuesday. The other corner is occupied by the American Tap House, where you can order pretty much any beer your heart desires. Next to the Tap House, you will find the popular burger chain Wahlburgers, which opened it’s first Myrtle Beach location here. If you take a stroll towards Ripley’s Aquarium from Celebrity Square, you will notice that there is a rather large building where Carlos’n Charlie’s used to reside. Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is now serving guests the lowcountry flavors of the south.

Shark Wake Park

What is a floating aqua park? Great question! North Myrtle Beach’s new inflatable,  floating aqua park is described as an “enormous floating playground or obstacle course,” and features a series of inflatable slides, runways, jumping pillows and bouncers all connected. This floating playground is the largest on the east coast, covering an acre of water. The aqua park can hold up to 120 people per hour!

Topgolf

Just a few weeks ago, the Community Appearance Board of Myrtle Beach approved the design of a 53,321 square-foot building. That building next to Broadway at the Beach will be home to Topgolf! This popular attraction can best be described as a driving range on steroids. Guests can eat, drink and be merry as they aim for targets out on the range. There are games for golfers of all ages. Topgolf has 30 venues across the United States, the most recent being in Charlotte.

As part of the Grand Strand community ourselves, it’s important to see so much growth is such a short period of time. The more Myrtle Beach Attractions we have, the better. We want our guests to enjoy each and every minute they spend here on vacation.

Murrells Inlet Golf: Architect’s Nine Membership

It’s no secret that True Blue Golf Club and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club are two of the best Murrells Inlet golf courses. In face, they are two of the top courses across the entire Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach! If you have played either golf course, then you know what we are talking about. These two golf courses, which have been voted as two of America’s top 100 public courses, are founding partners of The Architect’s Nine, a membership program that provides golfers special access to a collection of the nation’s best layouts.

The Market Common – Myrtle Beach
Located on Farrow Parkway on the South end of Myrtle Beach, this is truly the Myrtle Beach mecca for urban chic lifestyle shopping. Built to resemble an urban Charleston type village, it features big names such as CityMac, Bath & Body Works, and Victoria’s Secret, but also features lesser known hipster and upscale boutiques. Market Common also offers a unique array of dining options with names such as Tupelo Honey Café, Toffino’s Italian Deli, Gordon Biersch Brewery and Grille, and more! Very walkable with weekly events in the summer and an onsite high end movie theater.

Broadway at the Beach – Myrtle Beach
Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, enjoy over 350 acres of dining, shopping, the best nightlife at the beach, and amusements! This is a Myrtle Beach staple that has been around for years but has constantly changed throughout. Within the next few months, Broadway at the Beach will boast a brand new Dave & Busters as well as a new restaurant concept from Paula Deen! How about that y’all?

Barefoot Landing – North Myrtle Beach
The original shopping staple at the beach! Located in North Myrtle Beach, this red metal roof shopping experience features wooden decks throughout to enjoy the scenery and massive lake with natural area and floating bridge! Tanger Outlet Centers – Myrtle Beach & North Myrtle Beach
Featuring two locations, one on 17 Bypass and one on Highway 501, this national chain features leading brands from all over! For a more outdoor experience venture over to 501, and for those rainy days 17 Bypass can take the front seat. Both locations feature either onsite or nearby dining options to please the shoppers palate. Get sporty with Under Armour or Nike or grab a designer bag for a night on the town at Coach or Michael Kors.

Murrells Inlet Restaurants: Local Favorites

What’s better than eating a big ol’ plate of fried seafood while relaxing in a comfy chair as you gaze out into the waterway? How about doing so only a few minutes from the Inlet Sports Lodge? Talk about convenience!

Murrells Inlet is known as the seafood capital of South Carolina, so there really is no better place to enjoy a taste of the sea. Murrells Inlet restaurants are known for much more than seafood though. We have compiled a small list of our favorite, local spots relatively close to the Inlet Sports Lodge to fill up your belly!

Costa Coastal Kitchen & Bar – CostaMyrtleBeach.com

This one isn’t on our list just because it’s our on-site restaurant, but because it’s the #1 restaurant in Murrells Inlet (according to Yelp & TripAdvisor). That’s right…#1! Costa serves traditional Italian fare with a classic twist. They are also known for their seared scallops and fresh fish options. If you enjoy your food with a little heat, give the Spicy Crab & Lemon pasta dish a shot. Fresh crab is mixed in with oven roasted tomatoes, charred corn, preserved lemon, arugula, and chili pepper tossed with fresh fettuccine. It’s FABULOUS!

Prosser’s BBQ – ProssersBBQ.com

If you are in the south, you expect good barbecue. You won’t be disappointed if you head to Prossers! From succulent pulled pork to the best fried chicken you will ever eat, their BBQ buffet has everything you would expect and more. After you chow down on homemade mac & cheese, chicken bog and collard greens, make sure you save some room for some banana pudding. It’s not a southern meal without some banana puddin’! This BBQ joint is only a handful of miles from the Lodge.

Hot Fish Club – HotFishClub.com

To most locals, the Hot Fish Club is known for their nightlife. After all, Murrells Inlet is known as a quant little drinking village with a fishing problem! Before you let loose and party, make sure you put some food in your belly. Start out with the Blue Crab Fondue then ease your way into some Lobster Pot Pie. No, that’s not a type-o. The Lobster Pot Pie is filled with large chunks of lobster, shrimp & scallops in a creamy white wine cream sauce topped with scratch-made puff pastry for an added crunch. It’s one of those meals that just warms up your soul!

River City Cafe – RiverCityCafe.com

In the mood for a juicy burger? Look no further than River City Cafe! With multiple locations across the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach, it’s easy to fill that void in your stomach with some delicious meat. Lucky for you, there is a River City right down the street from Inlet Sports Lodge. All of their burgers (beef, turkey or chicken) are phenomenal. Our recommendation is the California Pizza Burger that is topped with a fried provolone cheese patty, pepperoni & marinara sauce. It’s absolutely unreal! You would also be doing yourself an injustice if you went to River City Cafe and left without getting their onion rings, which are the largest we have ever seen, anywhere! Another added bonus are the complimentary peanuts that you can snack on as you wait for your food.

So as you can see, the Murrells Inlet restaurants in the area offer everything you could want…and more. If you are interested in staying in the area so that you can enjoy each one of these places at your disposal, give Inlet Sports Lodge a call at 877.357.6106 and we will take care of you!

Myrtle Beach Wedding Venues

There are a million and one places to get married along the Grand Strand. It just all depends on what type of experience you and your spouse are looking for! Weddings on the beaches in North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach are extremely popular for out-of-towners and locals alike, but there are plenty of lovebirds who want to experience the lowcountry and all of it’s beauty. Good thing for you, Inlet Sports Lodge offers scenic Myrtle Beach wedding venues in Pawleys Island! Continue reading to check out two wedding venues at prestigious golf clubs that are both elegant and accommodating for both you and your guests as well as our on-site facility.

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

Pawleys Island is known for its old live oak trees draped with Spanish moss and Caledonia is chock-full of them. If you are looking to accommodate over 75 guests, this would be our recommendation. Azalea Row is located just off of the 9th green and provides you and your significant other with a gorgeous view of those large oak trees and colorful flowers. Moss Oak Alley is in close proximity to both large and small tent locations that would provide a short walk to the reception. Click here to view more information as well as recommended vendors.

True Blue

True Blue offers a very similar landscape to Caledonia as it is right down Highway 17. This wedding venue also provides plenty of lodging and accommodations for you and your guests so that everyone is in close proximity for your big day. Again, this wedding venue is also recommended for parties of 75 or more. Click here to view more information as well as recommended vendors.

Inlet Sports Lodge

Our on-site wedding venue here at Inlet Sports Lodge can hold a maximum of 75 guests for heavy hors d’oeuvres or 30 for a seated dinner. The Inlet Sports Lodge offers 29 Standard Deluxe Studio Rooms and 5 2-bedroom Luxury Suites that you may recommend for all of your out of town guests. Costa Coastal Kitchen & Bar is our on-site catering company. They are currently the #1 rated seafood restaurant in Murrells Inlet on TripAdvisor, which is an impressive accolade considering Murrells Inlet is considered the seafood capital of South Carolina! So if you and your guests are looking for a beautiful venue with spacious rooms as well as delicious food and drink, we’ve got you covered!
