Myrtle Beach Wedding Venues: From Wedding Shower To Wedding Reception

As you may or may not know, Myrtle Beach is one of the most popular places to get married in the entire country! From our sandy beaches and lowcountry backdrops to scrumptious food and laid back demeanors, it’s no surprise that so many couples want to tie the knot along the Grand Strand. As a local Myrtle Beach wedding venue, we are able to accommodate your wedding party up to 75 people and provide a few other perks as well!

Best Food In Murrells Inlet

Aside from an open bar at a wedding, the second most important thing for guests is the food! Luckily for you, our on-site restaurant Costa is the #1 ranked restaurant in Murrells Inlet according to TripAdvisor. Considering Murrells Inlet is the seafood capital of South Carolina, that honor carries a lot of weight. Another option is a popular caterer here in the Inlet, which is Inlet Affairs. They have been catering the Grand Strand for several decades and will be able to assist you in planning all of your culinary needs.

Convenient Luxury Accommodations

Since you will be running around crazy on your wedding day, it’s important that everyone in your wedding party will be close by. The Inlet Sports Lodge offers 29 standard deluxe studio rooms and 5 two-bedroom luxury suits that you and your guests have the option of staying in. We are conveniently located to the Marshwalk of Murrells Inlet, known for it’s amazing nightlife and fresh seafood, as well as some of the best golf courses in Myrtle Beach (Caledonia & True Blue). It’s also nice to have a room just a few feet away from the wedding reception just in case you or your guests enjoy one too many cocktails!

Murrells Inlet Wedding Venue

Myrtle Beach has plenty of amazing wedding venues, but it’s tough to mimic the lowcountry vibe of Murrells Inlet. Our venue is perfect for not only receptions, but also rehearsal dinners. Our venue includes 1,600 square feet at our outdoor courtyard and 850 square feet at our adjoining indoor clubroom. Both areas can hold a maximum of 75 people.

Murrells Inlet South Carolina Spotlight: East Coast BrewBoat

When you hear Murrells Inlet South Carolina, what do you think of? I would venture to guess that ‘seafood’ would be the overwhelming favorite, followed by ‘nightlife’. There are plenty of gorgeous golf courses located just south of Myrtle Beach as well as places to relax and enjoy everything the lowcounty has to offer. What about water activities? Sure, jet skiing and deep sea fishing is a blast, but how does a casual cruise through the marsh on a pedal boat with an ice cold drink in your hand sound? Hope aboard the East Coast BrewBoat!

History of the BrewBoat

In 2016, Charlie & Chrissy Mize came across an idea that they thought would fit right into the culture of Murrells Inlet. So they took that idea and ran with it! A few months later, the Goat (the name of their boat) was constructed and they rented a slip on the water behind Drunken Jack’s Restaurant & Lounge. VOILA! The East Coast BrewBoat was ready for business! Now, there was a lot more involved than that, but we will spare the details.

What is the BrewBoat?

Great question! The BrewBoat is the 9th cycleboat to take the water in the United States. The boat moves through the water from the pedaling of the passengers on board. Each seat is set up very much like a bicycle and as the faster you pedal, the faster the boat goes. A captain is on board to steer the boat through the Inlet and motivate you to pedal faster! Solar panels on the roof of the boat power the speakers (you choose the music), light the party LED’s for night cruises and charges the batteries for the electric motor.

That’s the boat part of it, now on to the brew! The East Coast BrewBoat in Murrells Inlet South Carolina allows passengers (who are 21 and older) to bring a six pack of beer or a bottle of wine on board with them to sip on as they cruise the Inlet. The BrewBoat provides coozies as well as coolers to keep your drinks cold.

Each cruise last about an hour an fifteen minutes. It’s actually the perfect amount of time because you do tend to get tired towards the end if you are pedaling the entire time. The boat actually accommodates up to 15 guests, with ten cycle stations. So not everybody has to pedal all of the time.

How To Book A Cruise

The East Coast BrewBoat runs from March to October (give or take a month) with cruises going out every 90 minutes daily from noon to 7:15pm. You can always view their available time slots here. The BrewBoat is PERFECT for a bachelor party, bachelorette party, family fun, office team building session or just a group of friends getting together to enjoy a drink on the water.

Inlet Sports Lodge: A Weekend In Murrells Inlet

Recently, we had a couple in their mid-thirties spend some time with us here at Inlet Sports Lodge. Out of curiosity, we sat down with them to find out what they did during their weekend in Murrells Inlet. Perhaps there are a few things that you didn’t even consider during your stay here in the Inlet, so we are here to provide some insight!

“On Friday, we arrived at the Inlet Sports Lodge around 4pm. We were greeted by a welcoming young lady who checked us in and provided us with our room number. Our suite was cozy and felt very much like home. We loved the wood floors and the complimentary coffee and water were a very nice touch! It was also very convenient to have a mini-frig in our room. We enjoy the little things in life!

Once we got all of our clothes put away for the weekend, we headed down to the Marshwalk for dinner. We made reservations at Wahoo’s because we had never eaten there before. The food and ambiance was fantastic. My husband and I both got seafood, because well, we figured we should since we are in the seafood capital of South Carolina! After dinner, we went for a stroll down the MarshWalk to enjoy the beautiful weather and then stopped by Bubba’s Love Shak for a drink. We sat outside since it was so nice and my husband had a cigar (as he always does). So far so good!

Saturday morning we woke up, got ready and headed downstairs only to be met by a wonderful breakfast spread. We ate and then drove down to Georgetown to check out the Hopsewee Plantation. As history buffs, it was extremely interesting to learn about one of the south’s largest rice plantations as well as the birthplace of Thomas Lynch, Jr. who was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. We knew that we wanted to eat lunch while we were there so we made reservations at the River Oak Cottage Tea Room that was on site. They had a delectable assortment of finger sandwiches and tea..just want we needed! After lunch, we drove over to Historic Downtown Georgetown to check out Front Street. There were several boutique shops and cafes to browse. Very cute little area. We spent a few hours there and then decided to head back to the Inlet Sports Lodge to change for dinner.

We had heard good things about the Chive Blossom Cafe from a few locals the night before, so we headed down to Pawleys Island for dinner. The food was outstanding! You could tell that everything was made in house with fresh, local ingredients. It was a nice change of pace from the standard fare that you get along the Grand Strand. After we had our fill, I was in the mood for a drink and my husband wanted another cigar, so we compromised and headed to Bourbon & Burnz for both! The atmosphere was very relaxed, as were the others who were there. It was the perfect nightcap!

Unfortunately our stay ended on Sunday, but we had an absolutely fantastic time! The staff at Inlet Sports Lodge could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely stay here again!”

Featured Murrells Inlet Restaurant: Costa Coastal Kitchen & Bar

Classic Italian cuisine with a coastal flare! That’s what this month’s featured Murrells Inlet restaurant Costa Coastal Kitchen & Bar is all about.

#1 On TripAdvisor.com

Although they have only been open since the summer of 2016 here in the Inlet, Costa is the #1 ranked seafood restaurant according to TripAdvisor.com. That says a lot considering Murrells Inlet is known as the seafood capital of South Carolina. By using fresh, local ingredients, Costa has been able to capture the hearts of not only the tourists, but also the locals. For restaurants to be able to stay afloat in the offseason, it’s extremely important to be have a good local customer base. Unique food specials and homemade Italian dishes have done just that!

Management

Owner Jimmy Pronesti was born and raised just outside of Pittsburgh, PA and he brings that blue collar work ethic to the restaurant every day. General Manager Harold Howell brings personality that makes you feel like you are a part of the family. The cozy ambiance makes you feel at ease, as opposed to the intimidation of a lot of higher end restaurants in the area.

What To Order

More often than not, Costa will offer guests their Burrata appetizer. This soft mozzarella cheese is typically served with a seasonal fruit (pears, peaches, etc.), arugula, red onion, prosciutto and balsamic vinaigrette on a rustic wooden board. If you see this on their chalkboard full of daily specials, order it!

Other appetizers to consider: Stuffed Banana Peppers, Meatballs (better than Grandma used to make), Fried Asparagus

For your entree, Costa offers several fresh fish and seafood options. One of our favorites is the Spicy Crab & Lemon with oven roasted tomatoes, charred corn, preserved lemon, arugula, and chili pepper tossed with fresh fettuccine. It’s like a symphony of flavors in your mouth!

Other entrees to consider: Pan Seared Diver Scallops (best at the beach), 18 oz. Ribeye

Location & Hours

Costa Coastal Kitchen & Bar is located adjacent to the Inlet Sports Lodge at 4606 US-17 BUS Murrells Inlet, South Carolina 29576. They are open from 11:30am to 10:00pm every day for lunch and dinner.

3 Big Reasons Why November is Ideal for Myrtle Beach Golf

When it comes to golf, most people think of Spring and Fall. While Spring weather can be beautiful in the Myrtle Beach area, it can also be unpredictable. And while the earlier part of Fall is also a great time of year, it still lingers as a busy time through parts of October. The later part of Fall can be one of the best times of the year to enjoy one of the many Myrtle Beach golf courses. While November is revving up to be crisp and cool across the country, it’s generally one of the most pleasant and affordable times of the year to enjoy the finest golf packages Myrtle Beach has to offer. Continue reading to find out why now is the time to book your Myrtle Beach golf trip and how Inlet Sports Lodge, a luxury hotel in Murrells Inlet, can help!

  1. Weather is Ideal

When it comes to November, most people don’t think of it as the month to venture on vacation, especially to the beach. But if dipping in the ocean isn’t your top priority, the weather in Myrtle Beach is still prime for golf. Temps average in the 60’s with many days still in the low 70’s and precipitation tends to run a little less likely compared to the rainy Spring months when golf is still at its peak. Most importantly, the east coast is finally out of the peak of hurricane season. Naturally as the end of November approaches temperatures can begin to dip down to some cooler temps, but still remain fairly mild compared to winters in the Northern US and it is still a beautiful time of year to enjoy the Grand Strand, even outside of the golf world.

  1. Accommodations Rates are at Some of the LOWEST of the Year

In addition to enjoying what is considered Spring like weather in the earlier part of November, you can also get some of the best deals on golf and rooms during this time of year. As the Myrtle beach area gears away from peak season, accommodation rates are usually at some of their lowest of the year. Rates at the Inlet Sports Lodge drop down to $109 before taxes and fees as early as mid-October, and continue at that rate through the end of the year. Not to mention for affiliated courses Caledonia & True Blue, affiliated partners, you can score rounds for packages at top courses a bit cheaper than you would in the Spring. The Lowcountry Luxury package for example, offers 2 Nights & 2 Rounds as low as $389 per person beginning October 23rd.

  1. Beat the Crowds

Although Murrells Inlet tends to boast less traffic overall than Myrtle Beach, the impact of the off-season is felt even greater beginning the month of November. If crowds aren’t your thing, you definitely will want to be at the beach during this time of the year. You can enjoy all the same amenities including all the top-rated dining in the area only with less traffic and crowds to compete with. Not to mention…if you have a preference for your tee times, you can have an easier time teeing off at your favored time of day when it’s not as busy.

In case you needed any other reason to visit us for your November Golf trip, give yourself a break before the Holiday Season. Afterall, when will you be able to get away for a golf vacation next? There’s no better time than November for Fall Golf in Myrtle Beach. View our Myrtle Beach golf packages here »

Myrtle Beach Attractions: New & Improved

Each and every year, Myrtle Beach makes minor adjustments here and there to  improve the experience of everyone who visits the Grand Strand. This year, there have been some amazing improvements, new additions and news for future Myrtle Beach attractions. Continue reading to find out what has been going on in the area over the past few months:

Barefoot Landing

If you have visited this famous North Myrtle Beach attraction lately, you may have noticed a few changes. The storefronts are now much more modern on the eastern side and a new bridge has been construction (mostly because of Matthew). Over the next few years, Barefoot Landing will be developing a walkable restaurant district to be called Dockside Village, located along the Instracoastal Waterway. Lulu’s by Lucy Buffett has potential to be the the most exciting addition to Dockside Village. This 20,000 square foot space will offer a 400-seat restaurant, a large sandy beach, ropes climbing course, arcade and much more! This will be Lulu’s third location in the United States.

Dave & Buster’s

Eat. Drink. Play. Watch. At the newest attraction to hit the beach, you can do just about anything your heart desires! Dave & Buster’s has taken Broadway at the Beach by storm. Patrons are able to play the latest & greatest arcade games while sipping on their favorite beverage, eating delicious food and watching their favorite sports team play. Make sure you race your friends in a game of Mario Kart. It puts the classic N64 video game to shame!

Broadway at the Beach

In addition to Dave & Buster’s, Broadway at the Beach has seen the most change over the past few months. Celebrity Square has been completely revamped and now has an appeal similar to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. Hard Rock Cafe was torn down and replaced by Dave & Busters and now sits on the corner of the entrance by Fat Tuesday. The other corner is occupied by the American Tap House, where you can order pretty much any beer your heart desires. Next to the Tap House, you will find the popular burger chain Wahlburgers, which opened it’s first Myrtle Beach location here. If you take a stroll towards Ripley’s Aquarium from Celebrity Square, you will notice that there is a rather large building where Carlos’n Charlie’s used to reside. Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is now serving guests the lowcountry flavors of the south.

Shark Wake Park

What is a floating aqua park? Great question! North Myrtle Beach’s new inflatable,  floating aqua park is described as an “enormous floating playground or obstacle course,” and features a series of inflatable slides, runways, jumping pillows and bouncers all connected. This floating playground is the largest on the east coast, covering an acre of water. The aqua park can hold up to 120 people per hour!

Topgolf

Just a few weeks ago, the Community Appearance Board of Myrtle Beach approved the design of a 53,321 square-foot building. That building next to Broadway at the Beach will be home to Topgolf! This popular attraction can best be described as a driving range on steroids. Guests can eat, drink and be merry as they aim for targets out on the range. There are games for golfers of all ages. Topgolf has 30 venues across the United States, the most recent being in Charlotte.

As part of the Grand Strand community ourselves, it’s important to see so much growth is such a short period of time. The more Myrtle Beach Attractions we have, the better. We want our guests to enjoy each and every minute they spend here on vacation.
