Myrtle Beach isn’t world-renowned for its surfing, but it’s still a fun place for adventurous locals and visitors alike to catch some waves. At Inlet Sports Lodge, we have everything you need to have a successful retreat, as we provide a grand meeting room and adjoining outdoor courtyard, catering, and even discounted rates during the midweek. Below is our list of tricks and tips for hosting an innovative and successful corporate retreat!

How to Plan a Corporate Retreat

When planning your corporate retreat, there are many things to consider, like choosing the right venue, lodging, flights, and the overall essence of the retreat.

  • Picking the perfect location is extremely important. Consider the weather – does the team want to go somewhere warmer or cooler? Also, consider the ease and length of travel. If you plan to invite family members or spouses of your team, be sure that the location is family-friendly and in an area where there is activity. Try to get out of the office setting, as you might see more out-of-the-box thinking!
  • Leave time for spontaneity! Although your retreat is going to be about work, everybody should have downtime to unwind and relax. Instead of creating a jam-packed schedule for your team, it’s vital to offer breaks and time for your team to do activities, explore, or plain old relax in their room.
  • Plan your retreat with goals like bringing people together, fostering innovation, and increasing communication – or any other goals that you may have. No matter the purpose of your retreat, it’s always essential to bring your team together so that you can get to know more about the people that you are working with every day.
